Verta Mae Freeman was born on November 30, 1937, to the proud parents of Stokes Sr. and Bertha C. Anderson. She was the second child of five children born to this union. She was always very giving, athletic person, she loved to have a good time. She was funny at times, she loved her family and enjoyed family events.The family moved from Memphis, Tennessee to Cleveland, OH in 1939.
Verta attended Cleveland Public Schools and later became a licensed beautician. She loved doing hair.
She was married to Clinton R. Freeman on August 25, 1956, and to this union, four children were born Kim, Clinton, Martin, and Audrey. She was an excellent mother and her children were her true loves.
She accepted Christ at an early age, and in her later years attended Providence Baptist Church.
Verta Mae Freeman was a well-rounded person, she loved God, her children, her family and helping others. She liked playing bingo and she was a traveler and she enjoyed doing arts and crafts.
Our mother Verta Mae Freeman was wonderful....thoughtful....very wise.... always giving and full of wisdom....very considerate gave you advice.. always put others first... a truly loving and giving person. Our mother was precious!
Verta Mae Freeman was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She leaves to forever cherish her loving memory her children, Kim Brown, Clinton Freeman, Dr. Martin Freeman, Audrey Freeman; her precious grandchildren, Danielle Brown, Kenneth Brown, Chaz Freeman, Telva Freeman, Landis Lake II; she was blessed to have five great-grandchildren, Christian Freeman, Cross Freeman, Cebastian Freeman Brandon Freeman, and Brian; one loving sister, Shirley West; three loving brothers, Stokes Anderson Jr., Edwin Anderson and Leonard Anderson; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
