Loraine Merriweather-Brazier-Ingram was the second of twelve children born to the union of Leslie Clyde “ Scrap” Merriweather and Beatrice Weddle-Merriweather, on October 17, 1936, in Madison County, Tennessee.
God called her Home on March 24, 2026, after a lengthy illness. Loraine professed hope in Christ at an early age and joined the Denmark Missionary Baptist Church in Denmark, Tennessee.
Loraine received her formal education in the public schools of Madison County, Tennessee, where she graduated from Denmark High School as Valedictorian of her class. She attended Tennessee Agricultural and Industrial State University. She met and married Ernest Clyde "Sonny" Brazier before they moved to Cleveland, Ohio. To this union, two children were born, Ernestine Elosie and Wallace Clyde Brazier.
Lorraine enrolled in Cleveland State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. She taught at the East End Neighborhood Center for several years before pursuing her degree in Nursing.
She later met and married Barnie Ingram Sr. To this union, one son was born, Morlin Jamal Ingram.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and her sons, Wallace and Morlin, two sisters, Warnett Merriweather and Lucille Merriweather-White, and three brothers: Jerry Dodd, Columbus, and Odell Merriweather.
Those left to cherish her memories are: one daughter, Ernestine of St. Albans, and five grandchildren. One brother, Samuel(Helen) Merriweather, five sisters: Mary, Emma(Eligo deceased) Merriweather-Fuller, Dorothy Merriweather, and Vessie Rose Merriweather; Olivia(Melvin) Merriweather-Warren-Davis; Canary(Jimmy) Merriweather-El-Amin, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Lorraine will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her sister, Canary, was very instrumental in assisting with her daily care throughout her illness. Her brother, Samuel, also visited often to assist in her care.
